March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction

Martin Starnes & Associates, CPAs, P.A.’s employees, Sabrina Cook and Jennifer Queen, along with their husbands, attended the 10th Annual March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction on November 19, 2016 at the Crowne Plaza in Hickory.  This fundraiser showcases the culinary excellence of the Carolina Foothills’ finest chefs and brings an opportunity for attendees to take part in a silent auction or in live auction packages. 

Several local chefs participated by preparing their finest cuisine.  After sampling the different foods, guests were asked to cast their votes for the two awards.    The People’s Choice Award was awarded to Chef Joyce Boston from Fourk Restaurant here in Hickory, and the Judges Award went to Chef Shawn Bank from Bistro 127 & Food Factory Craft Diner in Hickory.  Congratulations to these wonderful Chefs! 

The Ambassador and Fund the Mission Family for this event was the Payseur Family.  This family knows firsthand how the funds raised by the March of Dimes can come to the aid of sick babies that are born too soon.  The Payseur’s shared their story and raved not only about how the March of Dimes helped them but also how the organization helps other sick babies.   

The evening was a huge success!  Over $85,000 was raised for the March of Dimes in hopes that one day every baby can be born healthy.  The March of Dimes is a non-profit organization that continues to research ways to  save babies from birth defects and other serious health problems, including pre-term birth, which is the leading cause of infant death.
