MSA Attends Chamber LuncheonThe Catawba County Chamber of Commerce held their annual membership luncheon on February 18, 2015 at the Hickory Metro Convention Center. Several employees from Martin Starnes & Associates, CPAs, P.A. attended this annual meeting, along with many other chamber members from across the Catawba County region.
The 2015 luncheon included a welcome and recognition of board members by John Teeter (Immediate Past Chairman of the Board), an invocation by Rev. Matt Hearn, and remarks from Danny Hearn (Chamber President). The luncheon included the presentation of the Chamber's Inaugural Outstanding Community Leadership Award. This award was presented by Alan Jackson, 2014 winner and Robin Nicholson from Duke Energy, to John Teeter, EVP of Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Hickory.
Danny Hearn introduced the keynote speaker, Tommy Spalding, a world renowned speaker, New York Times bestselling author, executive coach, entrepreneur, leadership consultant and former CEO to one of the world's most distinguished leadership organizations. Tommy Spalding moved the audience with his personal stories of how to build genuine, lasting relationships - both personal and professional, and conveyed how those relationships will serve you endlessly. Mr. Spalding ended his speech by touching on the importance of "net giving" something that the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce has been doing for quite some time, especially during the Friday Morning Brews.
