MSA Attends NCACPA Annual Holiday Social
The Catawba Valley Chapter of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA) recently held its annual Holiday Social, at Market on Main in Hickory, NC. In conjunction with the event, the Chapter hosted a fundraiser event to accept donations for the Burke United Christian Ministries (BUCM) in Morganton, NC. Members in attendance were asked to bring food donations to support the local charity. Employees of Martin Starnes & Associates, CPAs, P.A. (MSA) attended the event and made contributions as well. Total food collected amounted to 195 pounds and was delivered by Ko Tang Cha-Moses, Chapter Board member, to the food bank shortly after the event. Items collected included canned vegetables, fruits, meats, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, and other dry food items as requested on BUCM's website. "We are in great need this time of the year," said Jill King, BUCM Executive Director, "and every little bit helps. We appreciate it."
The Board members of the Catawba Valley Chapter would like to thank all those who donated items. Without your support, the shelves at the local pantry would be bare and community members would suffer further.
The Catawba Valley Chapter of the NCACPA is always researching charities to support. If you know of a charity in need, please contact Amber McGhinnis, Chapter President, at
email@example.com. Please include the charity name, website if applicable, and their specific needs.
