Employees Participate in LRU 5K to Stay Fit During Tax SeasonAs a way to relieve stress and stay fit during the busy tax season, Martin Starnes & Associates, CPAs, P.A. (MSA) sponsored its employees and family members in the 4th Annual Lenoir-Rhyne University (LRU) 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, April 6, 2019, presented by LRU and the City of Hickory. MSA encourages and supports its employees in many ways to help them ‘do life’ while still working, and this race was no exception!
Running and walking the event was a reward in itself, but four of the runners also took home medals. Finishing overall in 2nd place was Jeremy Brown, son of Erica Brown. Cameron Lackey and Jonas Watts took home 1st and 2nd place medals, respectively, in the Male 20 – 24 age group. The guys were not the only ones who ran fast and were recognized, Elsa Watts also received a medal for 3rd place in the Female 30-34 category. Congratulations to all four of them for a job well done!
“It was a terrific experience and felt so rewarding afterwards; plus, I received points toward our firm’s exercise challenge. It was the first 5K in which my daughter and I participated. We wanted to finish together and that we did! I don’t think she will do it again, but I definitely will. Better to finish late than never, right? Next time, I will try to beat my time”, said Ko Tang Cha-Moses, Audit Manager.
Thank you to MSA, LRU, and the City of Hickory for this amazing opportunity to relieve the stress and stay fit!
