| This year’s winners of Best Employers in North Carolina 2020 were just released, and Martin Starnes & Associates, CPAs, P.A. (MSA)is honored to be ranked first among medium-sized companies in this statewide survey and awards program. MSA was chosen based on workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics and selected by Best Companies Group. A few things that our firm does that help us to stand out from the crowd are: 1. At MSA, community service is a priority. Employees participated in the NCACPA 100 Days of Service and performed more than 240 acts of kindness in three months, wrapping up the event with a blanket drive for the Hickory Soup Kitchen. 2. We have a-MSA-zing (amazing) Praise Boards at our locations to share the good things happening with employees, to extend recognition where due, and to bring positivity to our culture regularly. It’s a way to bring gratitude to the workplace. 3. For employees working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we conducted Virtual Hangouts during lunch on Thursdays. These luncheon video chat sessions provided an avenue for employees to relieve stress and socialize. Employees enjoyed seeing co-workers and catching up.
